About Disbored

Disbored exists to help small Discord communities grow and help people find somewhere they belong. We want discovery without racism, hate or the toxicity that drives people away.

Why we built it

Disbored.org began as a developer’s learning project: a chance to learn programming languages, build something useful and give smaller communities the spotlight.

It grew into a direct challenge to Disboard and the standards we believe a community directory should uphold. Attention and growth should never depend on giving hate communities a platform. What happens online can affect people in the real world, and we take that responsibility seriously.

What we promise

• Fair growth and equality. Give small communities a fair chance to be discovered and treat people with dignity.
• A less toxic directory. Stand against racism, hate and harassment, and work towards a more welcoming place to find communities.
• An open partnership programme. Welcome communities of every size that share our standards.
• A chance to challenge the status quo. Help us build an alternative that competes through better standards and genuine community growth.
• We will never sell your personal data.
